Today I made some delicious Homemade Organic Spelt Bread Rolls. I seem to be able to tolerate Spelt really well with my Crohn's Disease but always find it hard to purchase fresh Spelt Rolls.
Spelt flour may be ok for people who have wheat Intolerances however it is not gluten free.
Spelt flour is an ancient grain dating back, some believe 8,000 years ago. It is not wheat but closely related to it.
Spelt is said to help blood circulation, boosts the immune system, strengthen bones and aids digestion.
Personally, I find spelt bread and spelt pasta a fantastic alternative as bread is one of my most favourite things to eat, however processed wheat bread and I don't get on.
Spelt flour is not suitable for people with gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease.
As this is not my recipe I will direct you here to the originator. I used organic white spelt flour. The recipe is quick and easy.
Notes: I knead my bread for 10 minutes, let it proof (rise) then punch it down and knead for a few more minutes. Then I let if proof again as rolls or use a baking tin to make a loaf of bread.
