Living in the Moment: Right Now!

I'm still at my daughter's house in the country having a break from the bedlam of Sydney and the ongoing parties that seem to be a part of my life these days. I haven't been blogging for a week, I really haven't been able to go near my laptop because I needed some downtime.

This morning I was sitting on the verandah, thinking about when I'm going back to Sydney and gettig stuck back into my work, when I suddenly had to give myself a little reminder. "Right now, right here, I am in the country, there is no tomorrow, the past has gone, and at this very minute I am enjoying fresh country air, peace and total relaxation"....so then I asked myself why was I worrying about tomorrow and my work?

I always try and live in the moment, because I figure I might not be here tomorrow and even the world might not be here because the future is totally unpredictable. Living for just now takes a lot of pressure off myself. That doesn't mean I don't keep a diary and I don't plan. Of course I do; what it means is that I try and enjoy the very moment that I am in, because there is nothing else, the reality I have is now.

It's this practice that has helped me to stop worrying, and fearing the future. Fear, after all is thinking about events that haven not happened.

Here's a great quote that sums up fear:

'Fear can be good when you're walking past an alley at night or when you need to check the locks on your doors before you go to bed, but it's not good when you have a goal and you're fearful of obstacles. We often get trapped by our fears, but anyone who has had success has failed before'. Queen Latifah

Today, after my thoughts this morning, I brought out the laptop (to the verandah) and I'm now happy that I've posted on both Sydney Chic and The Jasmine in the Forest. I'm feeling content, that no matter where I am in the world, I can still keep things pumping along, without any stress, and as I finish this post, I'm about to walk down to the local cafe with my daughter, and her dog, to continue enjoying being here now! I'm sitting here, with the breeze blowing through my hair, the fresh air of the country, birds singing and crickets chirping....and life doesn't get much better!
